My Story
I’ve always defined my journey with writing, art, and creativity as a storyteller. The beauty of art and expression is that in so many of its forms, the creator is giving a piece of themselves and their story to the audience. These stories not only teach us lessons but they allow us to feel seen in a world that can quickly feel scary and isolating.
Growing up, books and movies were like a second home, a place to find comfort and belonging. 90s films, light-hearted tv commercials and YA Fantasy novels created a feeling of being seen that I know is my purpose to give to others. I began writing when I was 13 on a road trip with my sister's family to Florida. I’d been reading Wattpad books for hours when a story I’d read inspired me to write my own version because I was unhappy with theirs. My first few attempts weren't great and remain unfinished to this day. But, this lit a spark and created a passion for storytelling has never died. My interests have grown and shaped into a plethora of new and exciting projects, allowing me to build my skills in communication, writing, graphic design, and illustration.
I found advertising and marketing's ability to capitalize on the power of storytelling to build interest and loyalty in brands and products incredibly fascinating. A task I could be strongly suited for so I made the decision to study marketing and film in congruent programs for my undergrad. Now, with one year left till the big day (GRADUATION!!!) - I don't regret that decision. Whether through screenplays, short form content or a marketing pitch, my goal is to make people feel seen, understood, and inspired and to spread empathy and compassion in every project I take on.
